Palmdale GIS Section
Line shapefile representing the main arterials within the City of Palmdale. The dataset is a derivative of the centerlines shapefile. Primary arterials are selected from the centerline file and then exported to a new dataset.
To show the position and line of travel of the City of Palmdale's main arterials. Used on the City's Interactive MapGuide Site and on numerous mapping projects. Used for maps that require a limited display of the City's road network.

Select arterials from centerlines.shp. Export to new dataset. Clip certain streets that extended into outside the city boundary. Dissolve the new shapefile based on the whole and abbreviated street name. Remove unnecessary attribute fields.

Merge the Rancho Vista Blvd/Ave P arterials to the approriate separate Rancho Vista Blvd and Avenue P arterials. Essentially remove the split Rancho Vista Blvd arterial.
